RESIAN’S DREAM (VISION)
We aim to build a safe center in rural Kenya where girls are empowered to use their voices, break free from harmful cultural practices including FGM and child marriages, and build their futures through education.
Hear Her Voice: Survivor’s Stories of Strength and Hope
This video shares a powerful look into the reality of Female Genital Mutilation (#FGM) and the voices of those most affected by it. These girls are still fighting for their voices to be heard. At Resian’s Dream, we believe that education, dialogue, and empowerment are the keys to ending this practice. By amplifying stories like these, we work to protect girls, support survivors, and partner with communities to replace harmful traditions with ones rooted in dignity, health, and hope.
Over 230 million girls and women alive today have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM), and millions more girls are at risk each year.
This practice is mainly carried out on children, girls and young women, and has no health benefits; only lifelong harm. It is recognized globally as a violation of the human rights of girls and women.
Meet Charity Resian
Founder of Resian’s Dream.
Born in a small Maasai village, Resian grew up surrounded by rich traditions—but at sixteen, she refused to undergo Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), breaking generations of silence. Forced to leave home, she pursued education in Kenya and Sweden, turning her pain into power. Today, through Resian’s Dream, she works with communities to end FGM and empower girls with education, dignity, and hope.
“No girl should ever be cut, silenced, or denied her future.”
